The "Date"
I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely evening at the Hanford Fox Theater. Saturday night Lloyd took me to see my first silent movie in the theater with a live organist who played during the 2 features we saw. The main feature was a Buster Keaton film call "Our Hospitality" and I can't remember the short films' name, however we laughed a lot. It was a great night out doing something a little unusual.

A Busy Weekend
I came home last night (Friday), made dinner and then went to pick up some groceries right after dropping last week's movie off at the video store. Jonathan's boss, Lee and a co-worker gave him a hard time about not doing his own laundry. So Lee is going to give him a Saturday & Sunday off so that Jonathan can wash all the laundry that weekend. His boss is so helpful to me. After he made Jonathan be my personal shopper and run around the store getting all the stuff I needed, I went home and worked on getting a baby gift ready for the shower I'm attending today. I took Andrew to school for a practice with his winter percussion band at 9. I'm picking him up and dropping him off at home at noon. Then I'm going to pick up a lady from church and we're driving to Tulare for this baby shower. It goes from 1-3 and then I'm taking 2 ladies back to Hanford, going home and making pizza. Then at 6:30 Lloyd is taking me on a "date" and we're doing something we've never done before. I'll keep you posted. Tomorrow is Sunday, so there's bell practice at 8:15am, Celebration Team practice at 9:00, teaching my kids at 10:00, worship at 10:45 and teaching the last half hour for my kids from 11:15 to 11:45 or so. Rush home, make dinner, and then it's off to a surprise good-bye for a friend of mine at 2pm. She and her family are moving back to Virginia Beach, VA. Then maybe, I can sit down and relax!

Another great newspaper article
Well, I will let you judge for yourself, but I think this latest article of mine is pretty good.
Enjoy!

Tennis Anyone?
I have been wanting to take up tennis for quite some time now. It something I enjoyed doing as a teenager and thought it would be fun to do living in this warmer climate. I picked up a used racket at a garage sale and asked Luke to bring his racket home this weekend so we could get out on the courts. Well, Saturday morning we went over to Andrew's high school (it was wet and windy) and no one else was playing tennis (good thing!). Luke and I practiced rallying the ball back and forth and by the time half an hour was up we were able to hit it 9 times back and forth without missing the ball or hitting it 3 courts over! It was great fun just to get outside and run around after that little tennis ball. At one point I had Luke running back and forth from one side of the court to the other and I just about split a gut laughing. He was a great sport to go out and play with me. Now I'm hoping that Lloyd will also have some time to play tennis with me, as he always enjoyed games like table tennis, badminton and the like.
Our Wussie Dog
The other night Yoshi was barking at the patio door wanting to go outside. I turned on the outside light and opened the door. He hopped out over something, I looked and screamed - but it was only a toad. Yoshi then came running back inside and hid in the bottom shelf of our telephone stand. It was hilarious. It took him about 5 minutes to get the courage to come out. Poor Yoshi.

Views of Spring
Here a couple of pictures of the evidence of spring that we see around us. (By the way, that's NOT snow on the trees).

Pray for my Mom
My mom called last week to say that she will be having surgery sometime in the next few months to repair a hernia. I would really appreciate your prayers for her.
My Third Article - All about hockey
It isn't as easy as it seems, to be a columnist for a newspaper. Especially an opinions columnist. You are normally getting the subjects and topics from your imagination, so it is sometimes tough to keep those creative juices flowing. Jonathan gave me an idea for my latest article, which is in today's (Wednesday 02/16) Collegian newspaper. I decided to write about the hockey strike.
Enjoy!

Spring Blossoms
It's incredible to drive around here the last 4 or 5 days. The blossoms on some of the trees are coming our like crazy. I've seen whole orchards of pink blossoms in full bloom and trees here and there full of white or pink blossoms. It is so beautiful to see. I told Lloyd we should take some pictures and post them. My rose bush is starting to get new leaves and the plants around the yard are starting to really grow. What a great time of year.

Spring is in the Air!
We are finally leaving winter!OK, winter in Central California is more like fall in Canada, but it's sure nice to move on to warmer days. The trees are starting bud and blossom. The downside: More yard work!

My second article and my column
Well, I am back at it again. I have written another article for the Collegian (University Newspaper). In fact, this second article marks the first article in my new column for the newspaper called 'Infotainment'. My goal is to inform and to entertain, so this title fits quite well. I even have my mugshot beside my articles now in the print version!
Here is the website for my second article.

APU
Well, I finally finished my application for Azusa Pacific University. I submitted it and am ready to go. I just have a few things left to do to completely apply, such as send my transcripts down there, but other than that I am done. I am super excited about going there. Hopefully i will get accepted.
