Welcome to the MoritzOnline.net blog!
The place where all five of us will regularly contribute to keep our family and friends informed of happenings in our lives.
Be sure to check back regularly.
Hello everyone. A week ago I bought my first car. It is a 1996 Dodge Neon. It is black. It is a 5 speed, 2 door, 2.0 L, 16 V. Anyways, check out some pictures by going
here.
No, it's not the Academy Awards, but the official announcement of where we're moving.
After months of research, I have chosen Yakima, Washington to be the new home for the office of the Pacific Northwest Association of the Church of God.
Yakima?
It's a city of over 100,000 (metro) in central Washington, and is an important center for the rich agricultural Yakima valley region. Although much further north, the climate is very similar to Hanford, with hot, dry summers. They have winter, but it is relatively short and certainly much less harsh than Edmonton.
Here are some links to help you learn more about our new home:

As Kathy reported I have been home for the last week, and despite the whirlwind nature of my being here, it has been very good. This past weekend, in particular, provided several significant opportunities for all five of us to be together.
The end of transition is getting closer, and from here on out I will be home much more frequently than in the past.
And, watch for an official announcement in the next two weeks telling you where we will be moving.
It's a real pleasure to have Lloyd home again for a week. You never really know how much you will miss someone, or depend on them until they're not around. I am so thankful he is home. Now maybe the light bulbs will get changed and the blind fixed!
I finished my business law class on Friday evening. I ended up with 260/280 which equals another A! I needed 258 points to get an A, so I just made it by the skin of my teeth!
By the way, I don't know about the younger generation. I said something to Andrew when we were driving the other day about it being "six of one and half a dozen of the other" and he asked me what that meant! Boy, I guess I didn't do a perfect job of raising those boys!
Oh yes, and I was cheering for the Indianapolis Colts to win the Super Bowl today, and they did! Finally, the team I cheered for didn't lose! Well next week is the Pro Bowl game from Hawaii, and then I'll have no football to watch till the CFL starts up again. Oh well, I guess I'll survive.
Hope you all have a great week!
Yesterday was my first day of work at my new job. I am now a substitute teacher for Kings County Office of Education. There were a lot of hoops to jump through, and a lot of applications to fill out, but I finally finished all the requirements for the job. I do not have class on Fridays, so I will hopefully be teaching every Friday, as well as some Monday and Wednesday mornings when possible.
My first day of teaching was for Pioneer Elementary School where I taught a fifth grade class. I am also planning on teaching at the high school level.
I obviously have my kids call me Mr. Moritz and that really makes me feel old. Especially teaching the fifth grade class, it really got me thinking about when I was that young, and I really don't think that I was ever that young or small.
