Welcome to the MoritzOnline.net blog!
The place where all five of us will regularly contribute to keep our family and friends informed of happenings in our lives.
Be sure to check back regularly.
OK, I admit, this is rather late. Life has been extremely busy recently, and blogging has taken a back seat.
Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to be in California and spend a few days with Luke, Jonathan and Andrew. Luke is enjoying his new career at Target. Jonathan had a great time in Africa. And, Andrew was preparing to move to Fresno to live with Luke and begin studies at Fresno State.
Hopefully each of them will post here what's going on in their lives!
Here's a current photo of the three:
I have an opportunity for the next week to step away from my normal routines and responsibilities to do some traveling. Unfortunately, Kathy isn't with me.
For the last few days I have been in Nashville for Shaklee's annual Global Conference. It has been exciting to watch this company in this last few years with new leadership and energy. The recent exposure on Oprah has been phenomenal, and has been a very significant injection to our own business. This week we learned that within the next several weeks a major scientific journal will be publishing the results of one of the most significant clinical studies on supplementation ever. This landmark study, conducted through the University of California Berkeley, proves that people who have taken
Shaklee supplements for 20 years or more have dramatically better health than people who have taken no supplements or other brands!
Next week I will be in California, starting in Sacramento for a meeting, but later in the week in Fresno/Hanford to visit Luke, Jonathan and Andrew. That will certainly be a highlight before heading home!
Since I've last updated you I have been in my new store for over 2 weeks now. One of the nice things about my current situation is that I am an "extra" in my position, as my store already has all the people in my position filled. What is nice about this is that I have not been thrown into a situation of running things right out of training, and my "training" period has been extended a while.
The end of my first week at my new store I was already starting to feel really comfortable there and getting to know all of the team members in the store. By this time, after 2 full weeks in position, I know most everyone at the store (at least in the areas I work) and this store feels like my home now.
I have put in a few long days (10+ hours) but every time I have worked that long the day has gone by fairly quickly. I usually end up working about 9 hours a day. I am on salary now, so I don't have to use the time clock anymore, which is really nice, because Target has a ton of very strict rules for when one must take breaks, etc. Being on salary I don't have to worry about that.
I've also received my business cards, so next time you see me ask me for one!
Luke
Lloyd just got a phone call from Jonathan - as he landed at LAX - Praise God for a safe return. He and the team will spend the next few days together debriefing. We'll update you on more as we hear it. He's supposed to give us a call tonight.
