Well, I finished my Applied Business Solutions class - completed a PowerPoint Presentation based on a Research paper that was due last Friday. I am waiting for my grades now.
Fortunately, I am taking the month of May off, to get our things packed and our boys settled in their new accommodations before leaving. I'm sure it will go quickly.
Once we arrive in Yakima I will take the next class in my program. I have organized the rest of my classes so that I will complete my degree at the end of June 2008 - 2 months earlier that I had anticipated. I will be doubling up a couple of times over the next year so that I can finish sooner. That means my graduation ceremony will be in the winter of 2008 (They'll give me my degree in June - just the ceremony in December) and I'm hoping my whole family can be there for it. I'm so excited! The plan is (hopefully) to take a cruise out of Florida - somewhere for a few days to celebrate. It will be a great time to just enjoy my success.
It's been hot here the last few days. Yesterday was 97 degrees (36 degrees celsius) and today's high was 93 degrees (~35 celsius). Tomorrow it will only go up to 90 degrees - you get the picture.

Back from California
Last night I returned from over two weeks in California. I had two separate meetings to attend (in the Bay area and Sacramento), and was able to work in a number of days to be in Hanford.
I drove this trip, and made the trek each time in one day.
My last time back before the final moving trip!

As our family won't all be together on my actual birthday, we celebrated my "Golden Birthday" today as a family. For those who are not aware of what a golden birthday is, it is the birthday that you turn the age that is the same as the date you were born. For me, I am turning 23 on the 23rd of April. I have been looking forward to this birthday more than any other birthday I have had so far.
As a family we went to First Church of God in Fresno, and then went out for lunch at Chili's. I got a really great gift from my parents. They gave me (among other things) Rick Steve's Europe entire collection of DVDs, which is 70 episodes of his show on 11 DVDs, making up about 35 hours of his television shows. It is one of my favorite shows, because he takes you to many exotic locations all around Europe.
If anyone is interested, I am planning on celebrating my birthday with all my friends on Thursday of this week, we will be going to the Fresno Grizzlies baseball game.

I have to tell you that every moment I get to spend with my family these days is very precious to me. I know that life as we have known it for almost 23 years will come to an end, and Lloyd and I will begin a new adventure as will our boys (young men) as they start out on their own. Lloyd and I are looking forward to what life will bring to us in the Pacific Northwest, but there are also very quiet moments in our hearts where we know we will miss having those terrific young men around. It will be pretty quiet around the house and I'll have to learn how to cook for just two! We are so proud of our sons and their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them come into their own as individuals.
Life is changing for us again and it seems that change is really the only constant in our life. I'm grateful for the many opportunities that change can bring. Please keep us in your prayers - it's never easy but it's always good!

Going To Fresno State!
Yesterday I received news that I have been accepted to Fresno State University. This is a real blessing as my life for next year is starting to come together. I will be attending Fresno State, living with Luke, and possible working at the same store as him also. This is quite exciting.

Home again soon
I haven't posted much lately. Life has been extremely hectic as I continue to get established with my new job, which I am enjoying tremendously. In particular I have been preoccupied with getting a new office location in Yakima, and preparing for our move, the office in May, and Kathy and me in June.
Tuesday I will be heading back to California for a few weeks, spending time at home intermingled with some conferences and meetings in the area. Although I will not be at home for Easter, I am looking forward to the time there.
In less than six weeks my trip to California will end this lengthy "commute", although it will mark the first stages of all of us taking on new directions in our lives.

I finished my Marketing class this past weekend and my final grade is 98.8% - Yahoo! The 4.0 GPA lives on! This month my class is on researching and is entitled Applied Business Solutions. I'm taking the month of May off and will resume classes in June. My goal is to complete my degree by the end of June next year (2008).

Spring Break Cruise
I got back yesterday from my amazing Spring Break trip. As you know, I went on a cruise with my friends here at school. We left Friday morning for Los Angeles, and got on the ship around noon that day. We had the rest of the day explore the ship and start eating. The next day the ship arrived in Ensenada, Mexico and at about 8:00am we were allowed to get off the ship and explore the city. We decided not to take any trips to see sites around/outside the city, instead we would just do shopping and exploring on our own. We got back on the ship in the late afternoon, and that night and the next day we set sail, and spent time at sea. That time at sea was full of relaxing by the pool and playing lots of shuffle board. Surprisingly, I didn't go swimming at all, but I did do a lot of sitting/laying on the lounge chairs beside the pool. On Monday the shipped pulled back into the docks at Los Angeles and we deboarded at about 8:30am.
One of the best parts of the cruise was the food. I probably had 4-5 meals per day, including the dinner meal which was high quality food that you could order as much as you wanted. I had such things as Roast Duck, Escargot, Tempura, and Lamb. With the appetizers, entrees, and desserts, I would ALWAYS order 2 or more items from at least 2 of the courses, which means that I would be brought upwards of 6 or 7 plates of food over the entire dinner. As well, would also have 4 servers attending to us during dinner, including our actual dinner waitress (who looked after us the most) and cocktail waiter, (both from Trinidad & Tobago) an assistant waiter (from SouthEast Asia), and the head waiter (from India). Plus, there was a pizza bar that was open almost 24 hours to satisfy my pizza cravings at any time. And the buffet was open most of the time too. We watched some comedians, performers, and other acts, and for the most part relaxed.
Getting back to Los Angeles we spent a couple hours just laying on the beach at Manhatten Beach, and then went up to Santa Barbara and did some wine tasting in that area for the last couple of days.
All in all it was a very fun trip, and I was very glad that I got to hang out with my really good friends before we split up when we graduate. Now I just want to know when I can go on another cruise.
I just got a call from Target and I am now officially through the hiring process. I will be starting my training either May 29th or June 11th, both which are after graduation. I am not sure which date I will choose, because I am hoping to go on some sort of post-graduation trip and/or the family moving around that time might decision might be affected.
