I got back yesterday from my amazing Spring Break trip. As you know, I went on a cruise with my friends here at school. We left Friday morning for Los Angeles, and got on the ship around noon that day. We had the rest of the day explore the ship and start eating. The next day the ship arrived in Ensenada, Mexico and at about 8:00am we were allowed to get off the ship and explore the city. We decided not to take any trips to see sites around/outside the city, instead we would just do shopping and exploring on our own. We got back on the ship in the late afternoon, and that night and the next day we set sail, and spent time at sea. That time at sea was full of relaxing by the pool and playing lots of shuffle board. Surprisingly, I didn't go swimming at all, but I did do a lot of sitting/laying on the lounge chairs beside the pool. On Monday the shipped pulled back into the docks at Los Angeles and we deboarded at about 8:30am.
One of the best parts of the cruise was the food. I probably had 4-5 meals per day, including the dinner meal which was high quality food that you could order as much as you wanted. I had such things as Roast Duck, Escargot, Tempura, and Lamb. With the appetizers, entrees, and desserts, I would ALWAYS order 2 or more items from at least 2 of the courses, which means that I would be brought upwards of 6 or 7 plates of food over the entire dinner. As well, would also have 4 servers attending to us during dinner, including our actual dinner waitress (who looked after us the most) and cocktail waiter, (both from Trinidad & Tobago) an assistant waiter (from SouthEast Asia), and the head waiter (from India). Plus, there was a pizza bar that was open almost 24 hours to satisfy my pizza cravings at any time. And the buffet was open most of the time too. We watched some comedians, performers, and other acts, and for the most part relaxed.
Getting back to Los Angeles we spent a couple hours just laying on the beach at Manhatten Beach, and then went up to Santa Barbara and did some wine tasting in that area for the last couple of days.
All in all it was a very fun trip, and I was very glad that I got to hang out with my really good friends before we split up when we graduate. Now I just want to know when I can go on another cruise.
