Media Mogul

Last night the Fresno State Bulldogs football team played the Toledo Rockets. The game was here in Fresno, and since I can get free tickets through my connections I went to the game. My friend Chris and I painted our chests because ESPN2 was broadcasting the game. I had the letters "ES" painted on me, and Chris had the letters "PN" painted on him. In case you are not familiar with ESPN, it is the major sports network here in the US.

To get these letters painted on me, I need to get rid of my chest hair. So instead of shaving my chest like I did last year when I painted myself for the football game, I decided to have my chest waxed. It was a very interesting experience. I will hopefully be putting up a video of that sometime soon, but that story is for another time.

Along with painting my chest, I made a sign for the game that said in big letters "I WAXED MY CHEST FOR ESPN2". My hope was to get on television, because stations like to put that sort of stuff on. Anyways, my family taped the game, and told me after it was over that I did make it on, and the announcers actually talked about me, I still haven't seen it so I don't know exactly what was said. On the way back from the football stadium (It is about a 7 minute walk from my dorm room) I was walking with my friend Stephen, and we came across the ESPN Radio setup. They had a huge stage with lights and all that fun stuff set up, it almost looked like a on location television stage that news crews set up for sporting events. Plus there were a number of tables with people sitting there watching the radio people do their talk show. Anyways, I walked past this place (which I had no idea it was there before) and I held up my sign so people could see it. I didn't think anyone could until someone said, "hey we need to put you on the radio." So needless to say they brought me up on stage, and did a short interview with me on the radio (even though my voice was almost gone from yelling/cheering at the football game).

Plus, Chris and I made it into the Fresno Bee newspaper, which is the major newspaper for the area. We got in the Sports section, in the area where they talked about the football game. We also got our picture taken for a smaller online newspaper type website, and we are there. I will hopefully post pictures of this stuff in my next post, or as soon as I can get a hold of a scanner.

So this has got to be some kind of record for me. I was on TV, Radio, and the Newspaper all within 24 hours.
