Welcome to the MoritzOnline.net blog!

Be sure to check back regularly.

This past weekend was a special time for us. Luke was able to visit us in Washington. He flew into Spokane where we picked him up because of us needing to be in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for Sunday. Then we took him back to Yakima where he got to visit our home and experience our first snowfall of the year! Monday he returned home. We look forward to being with all three when we travel to California for Christmas.
I recently received a Sushi making kit from a friend. I had always wanted to buy one, but never got a chance to. I've always enjoyed cooking, as my mom can attest, and I've always enjoyed trying new things while cooking. Now with my own apartment this gives me the chance to try a lot of new stuff while cooking.
Yesterday, for the first time, I made my own Maki-Sushi (sushi rolls). For a first time, they weren't that bad. There are some definite things I can improve for next time, but it was a good start. I made the sushi rolls with Nori (seaweed wrap), rice, avocado, and crab. I even bought special dinnerware for occasions where I make sushi.
Here is a picture of the final product.

I've had a tradition over the years of going to the Edmonton International Auto Show with my Grandpa Moritz. Unfortunately with the distance it has been hard to go to the Edmonton Auto Show these last few years, so when I heard about the Fresno Auto Show happening this weekend I decided I would go.
I didn't even realize that Fresno had an auto show, although it was only apparently the 2nd annual one, so I just didn't hear about last years. This auto show was a lot smaller than some of the other's I have been to (as I have gone to the Edmonton, Los Angeles, and Leipzig (Germany) International Auto Shows). It was still nice to see all the new cars, and get to sit in some BMWs and Mercedes Benzs. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have my
Smart Car and I wasn't really tempted by any of the other cars, except for one. My friend Matt and I sat in a few of the cars, including the 2008 Volkswagen GTI, and it was a really great car, just for sitting in it. Mind you it's about $10k more than what I'll be paying for my Smart, but still good. I don't think my Smart Car is in danger of losing me, but I did enjoy the GTI.
Here are some pictures of the highlights for me.
