Welcome to the MoritzOnline.net blog!
The place where all five of us will regularly contribute to keep our family and friends informed of happenings in our lives.
Be sure to check back regularly.
This past Friday was pay day for me. But not just any normal pay day, this was the check that put me over the 1000 hour mark of working for Target. (Mind you I had actually worked my 1000th hour a month or so ago, but because I am salaried, I only "work" 40 hours a week.
However, hitting my 1000th hour means that I can start contributing to my 401k with Target. Click
here for information on 401k. This is exciting because it is starting my investment for retirement.
I have chosen to put 5% of my income (pre-tax) into my 401k, as this is the maximum amount that Target will match and put in my 401k. That means that I will be saving 10% of my salary for retirement. Definitely not enough to retire on, but a good start nonetheless.
This makes me feel even more grown up. I am assuming life over the next few years will be full of more things that make me feel even more grown up, so this should come as no surprise.
